Hello my friends – long time no blog! I’m working on it, I swear, but just ignore that because TODAY IS AWESOME.
Today, I get to show you a glorious cover for an AMAZING book! But first, just a wee drop of history and of course a big about the book itself:
If you read the blog regularly, you know I got to do PitchWars this past fall, which is an awesome contest where you get to have a mentor help revise and polish up your book and then be in a showcase where agents can make requests.
I got chosen as an alternate for #teamHooked, and my mentor was the AMAZING Brianna Shrum. She is super nice and amazing, gives hilarious and spot on critiques, and is an all around fabulous person I quite adore. And I am thrilled to get to tell you about her equally amazing upcoming book, Never, Never – AND to show you her gorgeous cover at the end.
The way end.
First, let me tell you a bit about Bri – or actually, she will, because it’s her bio. But in third person so who’s really telling you, no one will ever know:
Brianna Shrum lives in Colorado with her high-school-sweetheart-turned-husband, two boys, and two big, floppy hound dogs. She thinks chai tea is proof of magic in the world, and loves all things kissy, magical, and strange. She’d totally love to connect with you. You can find her saying ridiculous things on Twitter @briannashrum
Now, the synopsis for Never, Never goes like this:
James Hook is a child who only wants to grow up.
When he meets Peter Pan, a boy who loves to pretend and is intent on never becoming a man, James decides he could try being a child—at least briefly. James joins Peter Pan on a holiday to Neverland, a place of adventure created by children’s dreams, but Neverland is not for the faint of heart. Soon James finds himself longing for home, determined that he is destined to be a man. But Peter refuses to take him back, leaving James trapped in a world just beyond the one he loves. A world where children are to never grow up.
But grow up he does.
And thus begins the epic adventure of a Lost Boy and a Pirate.
This story isn’t about Peter Pan; it’s about the boy whose life he stole. It’s about a man in a world that hates men. It’s about the feared Captain James Hook and his passionate quest to kill the Pan, an impossible feat in a magical land where everyone loves Peter Pan.
YOU GUYS I JUST WANT THIS BOOK IN MY HANDS. It comes out September of this year from Spencer Hill Press, so you can join me in checking every single day to see if you can preorder it yet! In the meantime, I have the cover for you and….
